Michael has more than two decades’ experience working in media, crisis management, government, corporate relations, strategic planning and campaigning.
He is a highly experienced government and issues management specialist working directly with senior executives and Chairs.
He has planned and implemented public relations and issues management strategies for a wide range of organisations in the finance, law, energy, resources and property sectors; for senior federal, state and local government representatives; and for non-profit organisations.
Recent experience includes:
Acting as the Communications Director for one of the most prominent organisations involved in the recent Royal Commission into institutional Child Sexual abuse
Developing and implementing the government relations strategy for the one of Australia’s largest publishing houses to have the GST removed from sanitary produces
Developing media and communications strategies for several organisations recently involved in Parliamentary Inquiries
Advising one of Australia’s leading law firms on its communications and media activities including developing strategies and responses around reputational issues
Coordinating media and communications activities for several high-profile class actions
Senior media and communications advisor in several state and federal election campaigns
Advising on media and communications for a leading not-for profit Indigenous drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre
Michael was Senior Media Adviser to the former Premier of NSW, Bob Carr, until Mr Carr’s resignation in August 2005 and has worked both in Government and Opposition with several senior federal MPs.
